Horse Expo Pomona   

Equine Affair has decided not to hold their event in California any longer. So the Expo staff has decided to present the Horse Expo Pomona to continue to bring education and entertainment to the horse loving crowd who consistently attends the event in Pomona each year. Expo staff have over a decade of experience putting on the Western States Horse Expo (the gold standard of equine expos) held every year in Sacramento (this year: June 8-10, 2012). This year they're rolling out a festive and unique new event: Horse Expo Pomona, the first of its kind in Southern California

Spring Fling   

The CPFHA, in conjunction with PFHA and USEF (United States Equestrian Federation) will put on a new show, named The Spring Fling, on March 31, 2012. The Spring Fling 2012 will be our first show of the year. This has been a highly requested one day show to kick off the new show season. Come in on Friday, March 30, show on Saturday, March 31, and leave on Sunday, April 1. The facility offers a 125 x 270 show arena with a large warm-up arena and covered bleachers. We can walk to a great restaurant on the grounds called The Finish Line. This should be a fun show to begin our season.

Fiesta of the Spanish Horse   

Fiesta of The Spanish Horse is held each spring at Los Angeles Equestrian Center. It is a three-day event that features the Fiesta Charity Horse Show which is a multi-breed competitions that includes an OPEN Dressage Show on Wednesday and a New Special "Fiesta Charity Spectacular" show performed on Saturday evening. Performances demonstrate the agility of all breeds of horses that date back to the original Spanish Bred Horse brought to America in the 1400's. The event is filled with a variety of vendors and authentic Spanish food. This one of a kind world of entertainment is not to be missed. See many of your favorite acts and many new acts added each year.

Western Gold Cup Challenge   

CPFHA Show Committee Chairman announced that the 2012 Gold Cup would be held at the Industry Hills Expo Center. This the same location as our last three Gold Cup Shows. Established in 1981, the Industry Hills Expo Center is a world-class, state-of-the-art facility nestled within the City of Industry. The Industry Hills Expo Center offers a private, 125-acre gated facility with three unique venues: the Grand Arena, the Pavilion and the Avalon Room. The property is meticulously maintained and its hilltop location provides for dramatic views of the entire surrounding valley.

Santa Barbara National Horse Show   

The Santa Barbara National Horse Show will again host a Paso Fino show, featuring many of the best horses and riders in the nation, This show is recognized by the Paso Fino Horse Association and the United States Equestrian Federation.

Santa Barbara "Old Spanish Days" Parade   

Santa Barbarans have long been proud of their city’s heritage from Spanish founders and from the Spanish, Mexican and North American pioneers who first settled here and built the city. The tradition of colorful music, dance and song, together with a spirit of friendliness, hospitality and tolerance are part of this heritage which the Fiesta “Old Spanish Days In Santa Barbara” seeks to preserve and perpetuate. 2011 also marks the 87th year of Old Spanish Days, bringing joy to the hearts of young and old alike. It is a celebration of Life, History, Community, and Cultural Diversity – A Celebration of Santa Barbara.

Oregon State Fair Paso Fino Division   

The Oregon State Fair Horse Show is one of the biggest horse shows this side of the Mississippi. Housed in the historic Stadium, the Horse Show features competitions of more than 15 different horse breeds, including the very popular draft horses. $20/class. $65 stall fee. $15 ESEF drug fee. $10 office fee. $6/horse PFHA fee. There are post-entry fees for entries submitted after Aug 12th. There is camping/RV on the show grounds. Exhibitors & horses can move in on Aug 23rd and the move-out date is Aug 26th. Larry Whitesell Clinic   

Larry Whitesell, will return to Rancho Toledano in Penn Valley California for a three day clinic as well as two days of private lessons. Many of you were able to see Larry at the Expo in Pomona, and you will have another opportunbity to watch him at the Cal Expo in Sacramento. These spots will fill quickly, so please reserve a spot early to participate in this very special brand of horsemanship. Because this is his only private California clinic in 2010, we will fill with people from all over the state. Please visit his website to learn more about his work with classical dressage and gaited horsemanship for the trail and pleasure rider, as well as the show rider. Riders may stay on the ranch. Dry camping is available, and we are arranging for low cost local hotels for auditors.
